The company was founded in 2009 by entrepreneurs Steven Schlussel and Bert Cohen. Schlussel is the CEO of Resource Energy, a commercial energy services provider, and Keter Environmental Services. Previously, Steven was the Founder/President of IEM Waste, which merged into Oakleaf to be later acquired by New Mountain Capital for $655 million. Prior to IEM, Steven was a financial analyst for Rafael – the Israeli hi-tech defense systems company. He holds a MBA in Finance from NYU. Intelescope’s vice-chairman Bert Cohen has been a private investor and consultant since 1988. Among others, he was a founder of Telerate Systems, Inc. (acquired by Dow Jones Corp. in 1990 for $1.2 billion). Cohen had also served as EVP and board member of Cantor, Fitzgerald & Co. from 1978 to 1988.
