Payoneer raises $50 million Series E round Payoneer Inc., a leading online payments company transforming the way businesses send and receive cross-border payments, raised a $50 million Series E funding round led by Wellington Management Co., with the participation of existing investors Susquehanna Growth Equity, Carmel Ventures, Greylock Partners, Nyca Partners and Ping An Group. Founded in Israel in 2005, Payoneer is headquartered in New York with offices in Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia, and has a workforce of more than 500 employees globally, with an R&D center in Tel Aviv. VATBox raises $24 million led by Viola Private Equity Tel Aviv-based VATBox, a leading cloud-based provider of automated VAT recovery and governance solutions, raised $24 million in a financing round led by Viola Private Equity with participation of existing private investors. VATBox was founded in 2013 by CEO Isaac Saft and President Noam Guzman. Lightricks raises $10 million in first venture round Lightricks, a leading developer of premium image processing software for mobile, raised $10 million in its first venture round led by Carmel Ventures. Lightricks developed two leading image processing apps, Facetune and Enlight. Facetune is a powerful portrait retouching app, ranked as #6 best-selling Paid iOS App of 2014, and Best of 2013 and 2014 by Apple and Google respectively. Enlight is a groundbreaking general photo editor, featured globally as Apple’s Editors Choice, and ranked #1 in over 120 countries, with over 1 million copies sold since it was launched 5 months ago. Percepto raises $1 million seed round Percepto, an Israeli startup developing hardware and software that drones can use to handle computer vision processes such as obstacle avoidance, has raised a $1 million seed round led by former CEO of Time Warner, Richard Parsons. Billionaire Mark Cuban and Chinese angel investor Xu Xiaoping also participated in the round, as did Elevator Fund and Emerge. XACT Robotics raises $5 million led by MEDX Ventures XACT Robotics Ltd. raised $5 million led by MEDX Ventures Group. XACT began operations in 2013, and is located in Caesarea, Israel. The company is developing a novel platform robotic technology for needle steering in minimally invasive procedures, such as biopsies and ablations. The technology is based on a novel 5 degrees-of-freedom robot, ongoing needle path calculation, and real-time closed-loop control, for use in CT-guided procedures. Cyber-security startup Cronus raises $2.2 million Cronus raised $2.2 million from Janvest Capital Partners LLC and other investors, in addition to previous funding from the Israeli Office of Chief Scientist. The Haifa-based firm was founded in 2014 by CEO Doron Sivan and Matan Azugi, Cronus has developed CyBot, which can scan, identify and mimic myriad virtual hacking scenarios in real time. Former Israel Air Force chief, Eitan Ben Eliyahu, has joined the company as chairman. Cronus Immune Pharma raises $21.5 million Immune Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: IMNP) has raised up to $21.5 million through two financing agreements. The first, with Hercules Technology Growth Capital, Inc. (NYSE: HTGC), for a term loan of up to $9.5 million. The second agreement, with mutual fund Discover Growth Fund, in the form of a Series D Redeemable Convertible Preferred Stock for up to $12 million in gross proceeds to the company. Immune received $13.5 million in gross proceeds: $9.0 million from Discover and $4.5 million from Hercules, following the execution of the two agreements. Immune expects to receive an additional $3 million from Discover upon the effective date of certain regulatory filing. Based in New York and Israel, Immune Pharma is a biotech company that is developing antibody therapeutics to patients with inflammatory diseases and cancer. Telehealth platform TytoCare raises $11 million Series B TytoCare Ltd., an Israeli company developing state-of-the-art handheld devices and telehealth platform enabling patients to perform home medical examinations and consult with a remote clinician, raised an $11 million Series B round led by Cambia Health Solutions. TytoCare is also backed by major investors including OrbiMed Advisors, Walgreens, Fosun Pharma and LionBird.]]>
